Happy Friday, friends! There’s a bit of exciting news here: Monaluna is getting a new studio! This has been a loose bundle of dreams and plans for about 10 years now, but it’s finally taking shape, and I am beyond excited. There was a point at which Dave and I thought we’d build it ourselves, which is hilarious now that I realize how much work it is just to make the finishing choices and design decisions. It’s still early days, but I’ll post more as the studio takes shape.

Okay, one more post on the citrus theme. We have 7 different citrus trees in our yard (plus a few in pots), and they're all in bloom right now (along with the Jasmine and Honeysuckle). The yard smells like a perfumery, and is honestly kind of distracting. Like, I just want to sit out in it all the time. So I'm making a lot of citrus art. 🙃

It’s been a strange few weeks over here, and I’ve been quiet on IG. Capping off a spring that included lots of travel and visitors, a 3-week superbug and a concussion, we lost our beloved kitty two weeks ago. She was the quiet anchor of our home, offering endless purrs, cuddles, distraction, and fulfilling the useful task of keeping all stuffed furniture from floating away. Dave and I have been going through all our photos of her over the years, and in the process I realized how she also had a knack for photobombing my fabric photo
shoots. She truly loved seeking out any fresh fabric to nap on. I thought I’d share a selection of Sadie Monaluna bombs here. Fabric and cats, what’s not to like, amiright? Enjoy!
