wee news

Some friends have recently accused me of not being “out” on my blog because I have failed to report some fairly momentous (for us, anyway) news. It’s not that I’m keeping secrets, but I’m just a bit shy about it, and it’s hard to know just how to suddenly announce “hey everybody – I’m pregnant!” But, well, I am, and if all goes according to plan, we’ll have a Littleluna around here in May! As you can probably guess from the above photo, she’s a girl. Another note about the photo: it’s one of a number of my baby dresses that my mom dragged up from the basement when we were visiting her at Christmas. I take back all of the eye-rolls I cast in her direction (yes, I know, I’ll be getting mine soon enough) for hoarding all that old stuff, because I’m now thrilled to have some cute, vintage duds for the little one. There are even bitty little hand-knit sweaters, and some mod-looking retro get-ups. Pretty fun. So that’s today’s news! I’ll try not to let my DIY projects get too baby-oriented, but something tells me there’ll be a few geared towards the younger set coming up…

Congratulations Jennifer! I hope she inspires you to keep creating beautiful fabrics.

I only know you from browsing your blog and buying your fabrics, but I can tell… you'll make a wonderful mother.

  • Oh such exiting news, congratulations! That makes a smile on my face. I have two girls 6 and 3…and to have kids is really so inspireing, for me it was a new beginning in many ways, my visibility to the things arround me was changing (I hope my english is not too bad), and, very important: my craftivity awaked after a long time without. For you it will bring you sweet new girly projects; I already look forward to see it next here in your blog!

Thanks for your nice comments, everybody! We're pretty excited. And I'm glad to hear some of you are up for the baby projects! 🙂

You're only a couple of months behind me! I'm due March 30th… but its a boy! I think baby girl stuff is way more fun to make (and buy!) but oh well… maybe a girl next time for me?
I'm still having a blast making receiving blankets, crib quilt, crib skirt, stuffed animal, etc etc. Have fun and I look forward to seeing more baby goodies 🙂

Wow – good for you, Cristin! I haven't made a single thing for “Little Bit”, as my mom has been calling her, yet. There's been so much other stuff to do, but I can tell the nesting thing is going to be kicking in soon. Time to get started!

Okay, jenn! I am a little upset…I have to hear it third hand- Thanks to Suzanne responding to an email your mom sent the family that I somehow missed!!!! I am so excited for you! Babies are so fun….

Speaking of eye rolling, I have a 13 year old that is doing her fair share. I DO NOT believe we did that as 13 year olds!! We just picked on your brother! Please email me or Facebook me soon with details, CuZ Love ya! Vicki Hargrove

Hello there, I've been lurking around here for a few months. I think I've used some of your fabric for some of my projects. I love your designs! But enough about me. Congratulations! We just had a baby girl at the end of October, and whoa! What a ride. I'm sure you're receiving a lot of good advice, so I won't throw everything I was told and learned at you. But I will say this: the first month is crazy. It's hard. But it's amazing. Mostly because you just can't believe that you're holding the creature who has been living inside you all these months. And, one last thing: sleep when the baby sleeps. It is one of the most important things you can do! Best, mari

Congratulations! You picked a fine month to have a baby – both my boys are born in May! Not being pregnant in the middle of summer is awesome, as is saving the last couple of awkward months for after the snow melts! Looking forward to some cute little girl projects made with your awesoem fabrics!

Okay, so where have I been! It's a Girl!!!! Yay!! I'm so excited for you! Especially since you get sew for a girl. Sewing for boys is fun, but I imagine sewing dresses might be a bit more fun:) Hugs and Congrats to you and Dave!
