Modern Home sneak peek!

2798 Views

It was a gorgeous Northern California fall day here yesterday, and we took advantage of the golden light to do a little photoshoot of our new Modern Home collection. We got two of our favorite models and headed down to the open space near our house for some beautiful backdrops. Here are a few of the photos, plus a sneak peek of the full collection. I hope you like them! I will be introducing the collection at Quilt Market this month, and it’s expected to arrive in December. Anabelle’s dress is made from the Charlie Dress Pattern by Made by Rae.

      Hi Michelle,
They should be available the first week of February! I’m planning to put the collection on the site this week, and will be accepting pre-orders.

I am curious to know who your model is because she looks so much like me! It feels like I am looking in the mirror. Any chance to let me know…and also what hospital she was born in? I always thought my sister may have been switched at birth…ha! My sister was born in Alta Bates hospital on March 20th 1975 in Berkeley, CA. I grew up in the Bay Area, but have lived in MO for the past 5 years. Love your fabrics and will be purchasing soon!!
    Thanks for your help.

I love the quilt that you made and would love to make one for myself using your taali collection. Is it based on a pattern? What size are the rectangles? What does the back look like? Is the outside blue edge the back pulled over as a lip or is it a separate border?
Any details you could provide me would be really appreciated!
    Beautiful work and fabric…
    Thanks!!

      Hi Reba,
The quilt is really simple! The squares are cut at 5×6.5 and sewn with a 1/2 inch seam allowance, so they come out at 4×5.5, but they could be any size you choose. I alternated every other square with white, and did a total of 10 down and 12 across. The back is solid blue, and the binding is separate, cut on the bias from the same fabric as the back. Just figure out what the total size of your quilt top will be once sewn (or better yet sew first and then measure), then cut the back and the batting just a tad larger. Pin all over and stitch together. I used white embroidery floss knotted at the corners of each square to join the layers together.
