I’ve been writing a lot about holidays this month, so I’m not going to write about the history of Valentine’s Day today (maybe next year…), Just leave you a bit of Valentine’s art that I painted last night, and some links to some of my favorite Valentine’s projects.
If you are looking for a Valentine’s dessert recipe, my mom’s Cherry Cheese Tarts are cheery, a little kitschy and so delicious. They remind me so much of February’s when I was a kid, as she either made them for Valentine’s Day or President’s Day (something about Abe Lincoln and the cherry tree…).
The favorite Valentines I have made were the little cloth Valentines I made for Dave and Anabelle whe she was little. They’re still around, turning up in a bookcase or desk drawer now and then. It’s a fun, crafty project, and would be perfect to do with an older kid or tween.
And if you just need a quick card for a loved one, I made some downloadable card pdfs last year, and you can access them here.
