Two new Monaluna fabric collections have been hitting stores over the past few weeks, and it’s been so exciting to see the designs out in the world. It’s one of my favorite things about this job: seeing the fabrics in action, or even just set up in display in shops. I love the arc of the process, from the sketches in my head, to artwork, to samples, to final fabric and then… quilts, or children’s dresses, or curtains – whatever their end use becomes.
The first collection, Under the Canopy, feels familiar to the Monaluna family – lots of woodland animals, mushrooms, moths and wildflowers, and even some little fairy houses. The collection started out being a bit more fairy-focused, but it developed into a more down-to-earth woodland group. (I’m going to find an outlet for those fairies sooner or later, though!) It’s a smaller, more focused group at just 12 prints, but it coordinates well with the larger Moonlit for blenders.

The second collection, called Moonlit, was a total departure for me, and I’m so excited about it. This one is all about COLOR. It’s just four simple blender prints, but I got to create a palette that sings for me, and works with past and upcoming collections. It has been so. much. fun! In my pre-Windham career I was pretty limited in how many prints I could do for each collection, and was usually able to do just one color way per print, so the palettes were fairly paired down. I absolutely love having all these colors to work with – it’s like getting the big box of crayola to play with when you’ve just had the basic 8-set.

For each collection, Windham compiles a look book with all the fabrics and quilt ideas and patterns. Here’s the newest one – I hope you find it inspiring!

6 months agoI absolutely love the evolution of your fabric collections, especially the transition from fairy-focused to a more earthy theme in Under the Canopy. The idea of coordinating Moonlit for blenders is brilliant!

3 weeks agoHey there! I’m really excited about the new Moonlit and Under the Canopy collections—it’s great to see such beautiful organic fabrics making their way into stores. The designs are so fresh and fun! I love how they focus on sustainability while still being visually stunning. Have you considered sharing ideas for projects or patterns that pair well with these fabrics? It could really inspire people to create something special with them! What do you think would be a good beginner-friendly project for someone new to Snow Rider 3D sewing?

1 week agoCongratulations on the launch of Moonlit and Under the Canopy! Both collections sound gorgeous, and it is always exciting to see new Monaluna prints hit the shelves, especially with those nature-inspired themes that are perfect for quilting. I keep track of fabric lines I want to sew with in my Fortnite Sprite Checklist so I never lose track of my next make. Cannot wait to get my hands on these for a spring project!
